Over the last several years, we’ve seen increasing economic growth here in Ulster County. At the same time, we know it hasn’t benefited everyone in our community. Over 40% of Ulster County residents still live paycheck-to-paycheck, or worse. This is unacceptable.

As County Executive, I will ensure that we not only build on the economic progress we’ve made, but that we do not leave anyone behind as we grow. This means that I will:

• Support the preservation and creation of more affordable housing, specifically in the City of Kingston and surrounding areas.
• Protect county funding for critical social services programs to take care of residents who need help.
• Invest in deep economic growth by supporting industries like Ulster County’s growing technology and creative communities.
• Create and expand skills training programs to help residents learn skills to find good-paying jobs right here in Ulster County.
