Organized Labor Endorses Pat Ryan for Ulster County Executive
Gardiner, NY – Today, the Upper Hudson Central Labor Council of the Hudson Valley Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO announced its endorsement of Pat Ryan for Ulster County Executive. The Upper Hudson CLC represents 30,000 union members residing in Ulster, Columbia and Greene counties.
“After careful consideration, we voted to endorse your candidacy for Ulster County Executive, due in no small part to your clear and intelligent agenda to benefit working families across Ulster County,” said Fred DeStefano, President of the Upper Hudson CLC, in a letter to Ryan published today.
“I am deeply honored to have the backing of organized labor in this race,” said Ryan. “As County Executive, I pledge to always stand with working families. I come from a union household, and know the critical role that organized labor plays in advancing economic justice in our community. I look forward to partnering with our labor leaders to fight for better wages and workers rights when elected.”
In addition, Ryan yesterday received the endorsements of both the Lloyd and Gardiner Democratic Committees. They joined the Plattekill and Shawangunk Democratic Committees along with nearly thirty other elected leaders and progressive activists who have publicly supported Ryan’s campaign.
